The mission of the FST is to make our people better. FST facilitates Command and Control Training "Green Cell," using state-of-the-art simulations that professionally develop Command Officers for any all-hazard simulation or planned event (i.e., multi-jurisdictional incidents/events, planned protests/demonstrations, and special events).

FST also develops and delivers Fire Departments' promotional exams. At FST, we provide Fire Departments, Emergency Management Departments, and Human resources with a system to measure a promotional candidate's competency and command and control ability. Our ability to provide an experience as close to an actual incident as possible will ensure your department has everything needed to promote competent candidates that will directly affect our Cities, Communities, Departments, and Members.

Goals

We are able to develop small and large scale emergency incidents that can utilized integrating agency specific incident curriculum that will realistically represent a departments Standard Operating Procedures.

processes, procedures, and technology that will enhance the simulation experience.

Objectives

Develop Simulation Curriculum and simulations in conjunction with NIMS, Firescope, California State Fire Marshall’s Office, IFSTA, NFPA, NWCG, FEMA and local agency specific standard operating procedures and guidelines.

Develop and provide tactical fire simulations for promotional exams.

Facilitate tactical fire simulations for promotional exams to help candidates demonstrate competency in Command and Control, Incident management and communications in a controlled setting.

Functions

We focus on Level 3 & 4 type simulations for promotional exams.
Establishes a standardized command testing process that helps test a candidates competency during a simulation exercise.

Ensures Standard Operating Procedures are followed.

Ensures that dispatch and response units are choreographed to represent an agencies specific standard operating procedures.

Creates communications and messaging standards that incorporate radios and channels similar to an agencies pre-determined communication plan.
